I'm Timothy Daniel, a guy who lives in Seattle, WA. Previously, I lived in France, Sweden and Norway.
In my free time I like to work on little projects, which you are now bearing witness to.
Who are you?
Professionally, I'm a backend engineer with ten years of experience, of which seven were at Microsoft. There, I primarily worked on the Live Profile Card, and particularly on its integration with LinkedIn. I also integrated the (regrettably departed) Viva Topics, and contributed to the People Agent in Copilot. I've also worked at smaller companies, most recently at TerraClear, a local AgTech startup.
Personally, I'm just a guy, you know? I live with my two cats and I grow sunflowers. I have intricate spreadsheets for everything and love spending time on The Computer. I recently bought a bunch of chemistry equipment and made my own cola? I cofounded a Burning Man camp where we serve 800 crêpes in a week, based on a dry batter recipe that I painstakingly developed.
I think there's real joy to be had in creating stuff. It's something that everybody can do, often with a far smaller time and money investment than they might think. I find it very empowering. You think about it, you look stuff up, you experiment, and suddenly there it is, in the real world, the thing you made. Personally I think that's very cool.
